CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION
A national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health, resilience, and well-being for all Canadians. Through advocacy, education, and direct support services, CMHA works to reduce stigma and improve access to mental health care.
Key programs include:
Confident Parents, Thriving Kids – A free, phone-based coaching program that helps parents of children (ages 3-12) support their kids in managing anxiety or behavior challenges.
Big Worries, Strong Spirit – A culturally safe, no-cost coaching program for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families in BC, supporting children (ages 3-12) experiencing mild to moderate anxiety.
ANXIETY CANADA
Provides self-help tools and evidence-based resources to help individuals understand and manage anxiety. They offer practical strategies, educational content, and programs dedicated to empowering people of all ages to cope with anxiety and improve their mental well-being.
BC CRISIS CENTRE
Provides 24/7, free, and confidential support for individuals in crisis or distress. Through phone, chat, and text services, they offer immediate emotional support, suicide prevention, and mental health resources. They also provide community education and training programs to promote mental health awareness and crisis intervention skills.
MindFlip Program: Brain Science Tools for Everyday Living
Family Smart
Dedicated to supporting families and caregivers of children and youth experiencing mental health challenges. They provide peer support, education, and resources to help families navigate the mental health system. Through initiatives like Parent Peer Support, community events, and educational workshops, FamilySmart fosters collaboration between families and professionals to improve mental health outcomes for young people. Their goal is to ensure that families feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their journey.
Kids Help Phone
A confidential, 24/7 support service offering free mental health and crisis support to young people across Canada. It provides phone, text, and online chat support, as well as self-guided resources and professional counseling. Kids Help Phone is available in multiple languages and is accessible to youth anytime, anywhere, ensuring they have a safe space to seek help for issues like anxiety, bullying, relationships, and mental health challenges.
